Aftercare Information

Tattoo Aftercare:

Each tattoo artist has his or her own preference regarding aftercare. Please make sure you follow the instructions given to you by your artist. Some important information is below:

We recommend using plain Dial antibacterial soap to wash the area gently several times per day. PAT dry using a clean cloth or paper towel. NEVER RUB.

Swelling is normal. You may use ice compresses and take ibuprofen to ease the discomfort.

Again, please refer back to the instructions given to you by your tattoo artist. Most artists agree you can apply a THIN layer of ointment to your tattoo a few times per day during the first two to three days. You can use A&D ointment, Aquafor, Polysporin and other such ointments. DO NOT USE NEOSPORIN as it will possibly pull your color.

Some scabbing may occur as your tattoo heals. This is a normal occurrence, however, please let us know if the scabbing is excessive. DO NOT PICK at the scab.

It is also normal during the healing process for your tattoo to itch. You can use an unscented lotion. Apply a small amount of lotion as needed for dryness.

This is just a guideline. You know your skin and body better than anyone. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your tattoo, please contact your tattoo artist.

Piercing Aftercare:

We recommend the piercing aftercare used by the Association of Professional Piercers. You can get the information at
